Museomix is an international project that started in 2011 at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. The idea is simple: gather a crowd of tech and museum enthusiasts for 3 days and make them design innovative visit tools that will be used by museums in the near future.

Participants are divided into teams depending on their talents – programmers, graphic designers, museologists, intermediaries, communication experts, and makers – and they can start! For 2 days, these teams of “museomixers” will each imagine and make a tech device to make a concept or a part of the museum more accessible. And, on the thir day, the museum opens its doors to the public to allow the teams to test their contraptions.

Throughout the whole design process, participants are guided by experts in tech, curation and crowd management to help them in their considerations. A manufacturing workshop, the Fab Lab and the techshop, are made available to make sure that each team can access everything they need to make their project into an actual attraction.

After multiple events in Quebec City and Montreal since 2013, this year, Museomix invites tech afficionados to the Museum of Ingenuity J. Armand Bombardier in Valcourt from November 8th to 10th.

To take part in the event, simply fill in the registration form.
